Is it finally safe to get your estate planning done right now? I think a lot of us have questions about what is safe to do right now. I certainly know that a few months ago, I was putting off routine doctor’s appointments because it didn’t feel safe to go in to the doctor for any reason whatsoever.
I’m attorney Sarah Siedentopf. I’m an estate planning and probate attorney here in Atlanta, Georgia, and if you’ve got questions about whether it’s safe, please give me a call. I would love to hear from you.
But, really, is it safe? Of course, there are all sorts of risks with everything but in my office we are doing our very best to minimize those risks. All client appointments right now are either by phone or by Zoom. So if you don’t want to hassle with the computer, you don’t have to. But if you would like to be able to see me, have me see you, maybe screen share so we can see documents and look at them at the same time, we can absolutely do that. Then, when it actually comes time to sign the documents, we are doing the old-fashioned, traditional wet signature, but we’re doing it outside. Everybody’s wearing masks. Everybody’s wearing gloves. We are doing our absolute best to minimize the risk.
So I would say, yes, it is as safe as we can make it and I think you can feel confident getting your estate planning done. Certainly more confident than not having it done. If you’ve got questions about this, we would love to hear from you. Please give us a call. Also, please feel free to comment. We would love to hear from you online as well. Thank you.
