Non-Profit Spotlight: Presencia

Since 2009, Presencia has provided tutoring, mentoring, and leadership development to Atlanta’s immigrant community in the Buford Highway/Dresden Drive neighborhood.

This neighborhood comprises nearly 50% Hispanic residents, compared to 10% inDeKalb County overall. More than 1,000 immigrant-owned businesses line the street, including restaurants representing nearly two dozen ethnicities. Amidst the beauty and diversity of the community, the reality is that many families are struggling. In this neighborhood, 69% of children live below the poverty line.

Presencia creates a safe space for kids to learn and play in their after-school program. They also provide opportunities for the local community and partners to share their gifts and talents. Discover more about this organization at: PresenciaATL.org.
